One more posting from Monument Valley and then I am moving on to a new project which I think might interest those of you who follow this Blog. This photograph was actually taken a few years ago on my first trip to Monument Valley. At the end of the day we went down to the visitor center to see if we might capture a great sunset. We found dark clouds and a potential for rain. We set up our gear and waited to see what might happen as the sun was setting in the west. What we experienced was rain. We covered our cameras and pulled out the rain gear. We waited. Patience can be a photographer’s best friend. As the rain began to lighten up and the sun began to peek out from behind the dark clouds, a rainbow appeared over the east mitten and magic was made. A quick capture of this image and the sun went behind the clouds not to return anymore that evening. Patience and timing are the keys. Go figure. Enjoy!
