Finally, they crossed. One right after another. And then the race was on. They jumped on top of each other racing into the water and swimming to the other side. We were out of position to watch a good portion of it so our guide drove us to another angle to capture from a better location. To watch this crossing is an amazing event. Even though danger awaited them in the water and on the other side of the river, they moved on in a frenzied crash into the waves and onto the next shore and beyond into the waiting plains of the Serengeti. Just as quickly as it started, it was over and the aftermath was a quiet hush as we watched them move off over the horizon. Enjoy!
